Traveling is good for you. In a way, it helps you find yourself. You get to appreciate the culture of a place,  you get to taste unique flavors and discover new dishes that you’ve never tried before, you get to see the world through somebody else’s perspective.

I was fortunate enough to take a leave from work to travel to Seoul, Korea for six days. My parents funded my whole trip. ( accommodations + airfare + pocket money hehe thank you mommy and daddy).

Let me tell you about my favorite spots in Korea!

walking to Lotte World in Dongdaemun

I stayed in Ibis Ambassador Seoul Dongdaemun. The hotel opened only a few days before my arrival!  I really liked the room mainly because there was a gym open 24/ 7. ( Not that I needed to workout as I walked around 10 km a day!! ) The hotel is really affordable priced at around Php 3,500 a night.

First meal in Korea was this delicious Buffet in Lotte World Mall. With my brothers girlfriend, Ranhee

Dongdaemun is known as the wholesale shopping district of Korea. Most of the malls in this area open at 10 pm and close at 6 am!!! Isn’t that crazy?? What I LOVE about Korea is that even if you start your day late you won’t really be missing out because almost everything is open until the wee hours of the morning!

Authentic Bingsu!

Vanilla ice cream on a fish waffle cone with a sprinkle of matcha powder and honeycomb on top.

Tornado Potato for Php 123!

Grocery store sushi tastes even better than restaurant sushi in Manila!

Got both these shoes for Php 6,500!

Myeongdong is my favorite area in Korea! It is the primary shopping district in Seoul. The streets are filled with different food vendors, cafes, skin care shops, etc. All the Korean cosmetic shops are found in this area!

What I loved the most about this place is the FOOD! I literally broke my diet and I even ate meat. It was worth it though. The quality of the meat is different and the bingsu is even creamier and milkier over there. Ugh. My mouth is watering just thinking about all the food I ate.

If you plan to go to Korea, I highly recommend staying in Myeongdong as everything is there!

Stay tuned to Part 2 of my Seoul Adventure! My Visit to Everland, Gyeongbokgung Palace and Itaewon!
